EDITORIAL

The African Journal of Educational Research and Development (AJERD) present volume 14, Number 1, May, 2024. In this volume, the authors have brought to the attention of readers, researchers and practitioners various aspects of education generally and Educational Management in particular and raised pertinent issues. The multi-disciplinary approach adopted in AJERD has ensured continuous contributions, collaborations, knowledge sharing and dissemination of new knowledge as depicted in this volume.

Innovation and innovative approaches in almost all areas of human endeavor are well documented in literature and have been introduced and adopted in the discipline of educational management. In this volume, some of the authors have delved into the areas of managing innovative education at the tertiary, secondary, primary, early childhood and girl-child education. The nexus between innovative education and achievement of sustainable development goals that focus on education were well explored. Other pertinent areas of educational management delved into include teacher performance appraisal, school effectiveness, management of change and curriculum and their impact on teacher motivation, knowledge management practices, instructional delivery competencies, capacity building for teacher job commitment, implication of students’ indiscipline on job performance of academic staff, effective service delivery in universities, influence of religious orientation and insurgency on attrition tendencies amongst students.

Our immense gratitude goes to the scholars who contributed articles which have made this volume possible; we also want to appreciate the numerous readers, online and offline across higher educational institutions for their invaluable input in the form of advice, counsel and constructive criticisms that have made the publishing of this volume a success.
